Ascot Pre-1946 Art Deco Home Renovation

This Ascot pre-1946 art deco home renovation project involves the transformation of a cottage into a sophisticated home with an art deco edge.

Contemporary styling

Pavilion-Style Extension

We were required to create a new pavilion-style extension generally with the same character as the current home. This extension contains an open plan kitchen, dining and living space which flows out to a large covered outdoor terrace, landscaped courtyard with plunge pool. The ground floor has a laundry, powder room and stairs with a new main bedroom on the first floor. The main bedroom includes an ensuite, robe, retreat and balcony.

The new wing is linked to the current home with a very open substantially glass link. The new main entry space has an art deco contemporary styling as a transition zone from old to new.

A new double garage with a substantially enclosed carport is located at road level. Attached to this space are a cellar and storage area.

Open plan living

Interior Transformation

We converted the original home’s kitchen space to a third bedroom and re-organised the bathroom. Additionally, the original entry and living-dining area was transformed into a home office, library and lounge space that doubles as a media room. The separate entry remains to provide office access.

Finally, the home was rendered to address the external streetscape fence treatment with landscaped spaces to produce an entirely integrated concept. Contact us to discuss your own art deco renovation to your pre-1946 home.
